The purpose of this course is to educate field service teams on the inspection, maintenance, and repair of RICO HSD Sit Down Counterbalanced EX-rated forklift models.

1. Presenter will highlight features and components directly impacting EX compliancy of the truck and discuss their importance.
2. Presenter will review assemblies of the truck highlighting any key differences or mechanical changes from the original truck.
3. Presenter will review the trucks electrical system and discuss related components and their impact on functionality related to the trucks overall operation.
4. Presenter will review the trucks hydraulic system and discuss related components and their impact on functionality related to the trucks overall operation.
5. Presenter will review service and maintenance manual identifying drawings, service information, and other key information technicians will need when servicing the truck.
6. Presenter will review RICO provided EX focused daily inspection sheet to ensure the truck is safe for operation in a hazardous environment.
7. Presenter will discuss maintenance procedures when working on EX related assemblies and how to scrutinize EX related components for failures that could lead to potentially hazardous conditions. Presenter will also discuss components that can or can not be repaired in field environment and reasoning.
8. Presenter will discuss how to perform compliancy inspections on the truck to ensure the truck is still safe for operation after long service intervals, collisions, major repairs, etc.

1. Participants will be able to identify features and components of the truck that directly impact EX compliancy and can relay their importance.
2. Participants will be able to point out key mechanical changes from the original truck and relay theory of how how these components work.
3. Participants will relay overall understanding of the trucks electrical system and how it dictates overall functionality of the truck. Participants will also be able to identify components and different types of wiring on the truck and identify their importance.
4. Participants will relay overall understanding of the trucks hydraulic system and how it dictates overall functionality of the truck. Participants will also be able to identify various components and their importance.
5. Participant will be able to relay an overall understanding of the trucks service and maintenance manual. They will also show the ability to identify what section or drawing drawing should be referenced related to a particular service or repair on the truck.
6. Participant can perform RICO provided EX focused daily inspection with competence ensuring the truck is always safe for operation before being used in a hazardous environment.
7. Participant can relay maintenance procedures as well as any preventative measures that should be taken when ensuring quality of EX related components. Participants will also have the ability to identify damages or failures that can compromise EX related components.
8. Participant shows ability to perform compliancy inspections with competence and demonstrates the knowledge to understand when a truck should be evaluated on-site and when it should be evaluated and repaired at the OEM facility.

This course is intended as a presenter-led course.
Course medium is in-person and on-truck with half day of classroom teaching and half day of hands-on truck training.

This course is designed for truck specific content at the expert level. It is required training for any field service teams before delivery of a HSD model, EX-rated lift truck.
